Antioxidant Activity of Anthocyanins Reduces Oxidative Stress

The study of potent antioxidants, such as the anthocyanins found in CassiPure, and their ability to mitigate the damaging effects of oxidative stress and inflammation in chronic disease is an area of increasing scientific focus.

Anthocyanin concentrates from blackcurrants have demonstrated neuroprotective effects in models of Alzheimers disease and Parkinsons disease, have shown positive effects on endothelial dysfunction (an early indicator of the development of atherosclerosis) in adult subjects with hyperlipidaeimia, and have demonstrated cholesterol and blood sugar lowering effects in animal models.

Other research has focussed on potential improvements in patients with the eye disease Glaucoma following supplementation with anthocyanin concentrate from blackcurrant.
